Global NPK Fertilizer Manufacturers and Suppliers Database 2026

NPK fertilizer puts nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium into one product, but no two NPK offers are quite the same. The grade changes, the granule changes, and so does the plant behind it. This NPK fertilizer manufacturers database helps buyers, importers and distributors see who actually makes NPK, which countries export it, and what to ask before a contract is signed.

Below you will find a verified sample of NPK producers, 2024 trade data for every reporting country, a plain guide to the common grades, and a short checklist for supplier due diligence. You can search, filter and download both tables.

One thing to be clear about. This is a research resource that we build and check record by record. It does not list every NPK fertilizer manufacturer in the world, and it only contains details we have confirmed from a public source.

The global NPK fertilizer market in brief

Crops need different amounts of each nutrient at different stages. A rice farmer in Thailand, a wheat grower in Poland and a vegetable producer in Morocco will not use the same ratio. That is why NPK is sold in dozens of grades, and why the market is more fragmented than urea or potash.

The raw materials come from three different industries. Nitrogen comes from ammonia, made mostly from natural gas. Phosphate comes from phosphate rock turned into phosphoric acid. Potassium comes from mined potash. So the big NPK fertilizer manufacturers tend to be groups that control at least one of those inputs: Morocco’s phosphate industry, Russian and European integrated producers, and Indian companies with their own phosphoric acid or ammonia.

Trade figures show the pattern. In 2024, according to UN Comtrade data for HS code 310520 (fertilizers containing all three nutrients):

  • Russia was the largest exporter. It did not report its own 2024 trade, but partner countries reported importing at least 5.6 million tonnes of Russian NPK.
  • Morocco exported 1.49 million tonnes and Belgium 1.30 million tonnes.
  • China, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland each exported between about 0.37 and 0.71 million tonnes.
  • The largest importers were India (1.58 million tonnes), Brazil (1.40 million), China (1.23 million) and Thailand (1.00 million).
Bar chart of leading NPK fertilizer exporters in 2024 from UN Comtrade: Russia about 5.6 million tonnes (partner data), Morocco 1.5 million, Belgium 1.3 million, then China, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland.
Leading NPK fertilizer exporters in 2024.

The numbers hide a lot of variety. The Netherlands exported about 0.41 million tonnes at an average customs value of roughly $880 per tonne, against about $530 for Morocco and $390 for China. A gap that large usually means a different product mix, with more water-soluble and specialty grades, rather than a different price for the same thing. Always compare like with like.

What our NPK manufacturer records contain

A useful supplier record does more than give a name and a country. When we research an NPK producer, we aim to capture these fields:

FieldWhat we recordSource we accept
Company nameOfficial name of the producing company or groupCompany website, annual report
Country and locationCountry of operation and plant locationCompany website
Company typeManufacturer, exporter, distributor or traderCompany publications

We leave a field empty rather than guess. A blank means “not publicly documented”, not “zero”.

We do not publish private emails, personal phone numbers or scraped contact lists. Where a capacity figure is not published, we say so instead of estimating it.

NPK producers we confirmed in October 2026, on the company's official website or, where the website blocks automated checks, on Wikipedia (linked in the last column). "Products confirmed" lists only what that source states. This is a verified sample, not a complete list, and inclusion does not mean Agromer represents the company. Country export figures: UN Comtrade, HS 310520 (fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium), 2024; blank means not reported. *Russia did not report 2024 trade; its export figure is the imports partner countries reported from Russia, a minimum.

A few of these groups sell globally. Others, such as the Indian producers, mainly supply their home market, where fertilizer prices are regulated. That matters if you are looking for export cargoes rather than market information.

NPK grades and specifications

The three numbers on an NPK fertilizer are the percentages of nitrogen (N), phosphate (P2O5) and potash (K2O) by weight. A 50 kg bag of 15-15-15 holds 7.5 kg of each, so 22.5 kg of nutrients in total. The rest is the carrier material and, in many grades, sulphur or other secondary nutrients.

Six cards explaining NPK grades: 15-15-15, 16-16-16, 10-26-26, water-soluble 20-20-20, 20-20-0-13 with sulphur, and the difference between compound and blended NPK.
How to read an NPK fertilizer grade.
GradeTypical formWhere it is used
15-15-15Granular compoundBalanced feeding for cereals, maize and many field crops
16-16-16, 17-17-17Granular compoundHigher-analysis balanced grades, lower freight per unit of nutrient
10-26-26Granular compoundLow N, high P and K, often at planting or for root crops
12-32-16, 9-24-24Granular compoundPhosphate-rich grades for basal application
19-19-19, 20-20-20Water-soluble powderFertigation and foliar feeding in horticulture
20-20-0-13GranularAn NP grade with sulphur; no potassium, despite being sold alongside NPK
Typical grades only. Every producer publishes its own range, and the certificate of analysis is what counts.

Physical form matters as much as the grade. Compound NPK is made in a chemical or granulation plant so that every granule contains all three nutrients. Bulk blends are mixtures of separate granules, such as urea, DAP and MOP. Blends are cheaper to make and easy to tailor, but they can segregate in handling. Water-soluble NPK is a fine, fully soluble powder for drip irrigation, and it trades at a much higher price per tonne.

For crop-by-crop ratios, see our guide to NPK ratios. If you are comparing compound and complex grades, read complex fertilizer.

Belgium’s figure deserves a note. A country’s exports include goods made by its own plants and goods shipped through its ports. Antwerp is a major fertilizer hub, so some Belgian exports are likely to originate elsewhere. Customs data tells you where a cargo left from, not always who made it.

Manufacturers, exporters, distributors and traders

Buyers often mix these up, and it causes problems later.

  • Manufacturers run the plants. They control the formulation, the quality and the production schedule.
  • Exporters sell across borders. Some are the manufacturer’s own sales company; others buy from several plants.
  • Distributors and wholesalers hold stock in a market and sell to retailers, cooperatives and farms.
  • International commodity traders buy cargoes from producers or other traders and sell them on, often taking care of shipping, finance and documents.

Picture a distributor in West Africa looking for 5,000 tonnes of 15-15-15. They might get three offers in a week: one from a European producer’s sales office, one from a trading house, and one from a broker who cannot say which plant the product comes from. The first two can both be fine. The third is a warning sign. Ask every seller to name the producing plant and the loading port.

International NPK trade: shipping and packaging

NPK moves in three main ways:

  • Bulk vessels of 10,000 tonnes and more, usually for large importers with their own bagging plants.
  • Big bags of around 500 to 1,000 kg, which keep granules cleaner and make discharge easier at ports without bagging lines.
  • 50 kg or 25 kg bags, often in containers, for smaller orders and for markets that sell straight to farmers.

Compound NPK picks up moisture. Ask about anti-caking treatment, crushing strength and how the cargo will be stored before loading. Standard shipping documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading and certificate of analysis. See our guide to international commodity trade documents.

What to check before choosing an NPK supplier

  • Grade and analysis: the exact N-P-K, any sulphur or micronutrients, and the tolerance on each figure.
  • Physical quality: granule size range, crushing strength, moisture and dust.
  • Manufacturer credentials: company registration, the producing plant and its export history.
  • Supply capacity: whether the producer can cover your volume and shipment schedule.
  • Minimum quantities: these vary widely by producer and route, so ask rather than assume.
  • Packaging and marking: bag type, language on the bag, and any registration number your country requires.
  • Price and payment: price basis, plus a secure payment instrument such as a documentary letter of credit.
  • Incoterms and logistics: FOB, CFR or CIF, discharge port limits and laytime.
  • Import rules: registration, labelling and heavy metal limits in your market.
  • Inspection: independent inspection of quality and weight at loading.

Our guides on how to assess fertilizer suppliers and buying fertilizer in bulk go into more detail.

Why use an NPK manufacturer database

A good database will not find you a supplier on its own. It saves time in the early stages:

  • Map the producers that make the grade you need.
  • See which countries actually export, so you focus on realistic origins.
  • Compare average trade values between origins before you ask for quotes.
  • Spot weak offers that cannot be traced back to a real plant.
  • Prepare better enquiries, with the right specification and terms from the start.

Working with Agromer

Agromer has been an international commodity trader since 1985, based in Saint-Avertin, France. We supply NPK compounds and blends of European origin, including custom formulas prepared for a specific crop or market. Payment is by 100% DLC or SBLC, with independent SGS inspection at loading. Send us the grade, quantity, packaging and destination, and we will check what we can offer. See also our NPK fertilizer supply page.

Before you send: Agromer trades with businesses only, in bulk shipments. We do not supply retail or small farm quantities. Payment is by irrevocable documentary letter of credit (DLC) or SBLC. For urea, coal and petroleum products, an end-buyer Letter of Intent is needed before an offer is issued.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the major NPK fertilizer manufacturers worldwide?

Large NPK producers include integrated groups such as Yara, EuroChem, PhosAgro, OCP and ICL, along with Grupa Azoty in Poland and several Indian and Indonesian companies. The table above lists the producers we have verified so far.

Which countries export the most NPK fertilizer?

In 2024, Russia was the largest exporter based on partner data, with at least 5.6 million tonnes. Morocco and Belgium followed with about 1.5 and 1.3 million tonnes, according to UN Comtrade.

What is the difference between compound and blended NPK?

In a compound NPK, every granule contains all three nutrients. A blend mixes separate granules of different fertilizers. Compounds spread more evenly; blends are cheaper and easier to customise.

What does NPK 15-15-15 mean?

It contains 15% nitrogen, 15% phosphate as P2O5 and 15% potash as K2O by weight. A 50 kg bag therefore holds 22.5 kg of the three nutrients combined.

Is water-soluble 20-20-20 the same as granular NPK?

No. Water-soluble NPK is a refined powder that dissolves fully for drip irrigation or foliar feeding. Granular NPK is applied to the soil. They are different products with very different prices.

What should I check before importing NPK in bulk?

Confirm the exact analysis, granule quality, producing plant, packaging, import registration and payment terms. Insist on independent inspection at loading.

Can I download the NPK manufacturers database?

Yes. Use the Download CSV button above either table. The file includes any search or filter you have applied, plus the source note.
